Cry Out To God
By Pastor Lew Pizzala

“And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” 26 And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the LORD” Gen. 4:25,26

Did you know that the first title, in the Bible, to describe God’s people was not “Christian” or “believer?” Instead it was those who “call on the name of the Lord.” From this point you read of an ignited response of those who “call upon the name of the Lord.” After 430 years of bondage to the Egyptians the children of Israel cried out unto God. Israel crying out to God was Israel at her best. However, Israel in the wilderness “whining” about life’s conditions is Israel at her worst. God wants to raise up “criers” and not “whiners.”

You can cry your way out of bondage, provided that you cry out to God. You can cry your way into deliverance, provided you cry out to God. What is the difference between a “whiner” and a “crier?” Those who whine seek to catch the ear of others; those who cry out to God seek to catch the ear of the Father. Those who whine see only the problem; those who cry out to God see the solutions. When Israel whined they were forbidden access into the Promised Land. When she cried out to God, she came forth out of Egypt.

Prayer: “Forgive me for complaining and murmuring. May that energy be transformed into a life of intercession before the hearing ear of an All Powerful God.”
