Attitude Adjustment

By Pastor Lew Pizzala

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”  1 Cor. 2:14-16

Most Christians who live a defeated life are only one inch away from total and complete victory.  That inch is an “attitude inch.”  There is little difference in people.  That little difference is in their attitude.  The big difference is whether it is positive or negative.  One of the biggest differences between the saved man and the unsaved is the saved man has “the mind of Christ.”  What does it mean to have the mind of Christ?  It means to look at life from the Saviors point of view.  What kind of mind set did Jesus have when people hurt, offended or wounded Him?  Did He retaliate, “render evil for evil back, or seek revenge?  Somebody once said:  “the reason why people are so “dog tired” at night is because they growl all day long.” Or, did He simply forgive?  Paul says you have that same mind set.   What kind of attitude did Jesus display when circumstances came against Him?  On one occasion He crawled into the back of a ship and laid His head on a pillow.  He did not worry about the wind, waves, water or weather.  Paul says we should have the same mind set.

Prayer:  “Manifest the mind of Christ in me that I would respond to people and circumstances the way the Lord has patterned for me to follow.”
