When You Pray By Pastor Lew Pizzala |
![]() |
“ But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly” Matt. 6:6 It’s been said that the only “foot prints” on the sands of time that will really last, are the ones that are made after “knee prints.” That is because our doing is affected by our praying. Prayer is a foregone conclusion in the mind of the Lord. Jesus does not say: “if you pray”, He says: “when you pray.” Prayer is not an option it is an order. If Jesus is our example then when did He pray? He prayed in the morning (Mark 1:35). Long before the noise of commerce, the roar of traffic and the ringing of the telephone, Jesus was up out of bed, because prayer should be the key that opens the day, and locks the night. He also prayed at night (Mark 6:45-47); all night long (Luke 6:12); and before major decisions (Luke 6:13). Prayer was to His spiritual man, what breathing is to your physical man. Prayer: “Release that same spirit of prayer upon me that was upon Jesus. May what I do be influenced by heaven, as I seek the Lord.”
