Fathering is not something perfect men do, But something that perfects the man. The end product of child raising is not the child, but the parent.

What Every Dad Needs

By Pastor Lew Pizzala

Father’s Day has come and gone but the needs of a Dad remain. The expectations placed on a Father are great and responsibilities are never ending but when they are surrounded by what they need their load will be a little bit lighter!

First – Every Dad Needs “Obedient Children” Look at Proverbs 23:24, 25 – “24 Parents rejoice when their children turn out well; wise children become proud parents. 25 So make your father happy!

Also Ephesians 6:1-3 – “1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 “Honor your father and mother,” 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

Underneath the veneer of a strong and powerful body your Dad houses a breakable heart!

– Every Dad Needs an “Obliging Wife”

Just what does that mean? Well the definition of obliging is “helpful, cooperative, agreeable, gracious and considerate.” That is what every Dad needs. It is very important that a wife shows respect to her husband. Here is the principle I want you to remember: While it is true that a husband should never treat his wife like a slave; it is also true that a wife should never treat her husband like a kid! Every husband needs a wife who understands the difference between being a wife to him and a mother to his children!

Third – Every Dad needs an “Omnipotent God”

Every Dad needs to understand that he never operates in his own power! He is only able to meet his demands and obligations because of his omnipotent – all powerful – God!

And last, some final tips to being a good Dad:

1. Dad’s – Protect your children! Command righteousness in your home. Protecting your children means more than childproofing your home.

2. Dad’s – Prioritize your children! Spend time with your children. Don’t let the cares of the world crowd them out!

3. Dad’s – Prize your children! A great way to prize your children is to play with your children!

4. Dad’s – Pray for your children! Something happens in the life of your child that doesn’t happen if you don’t pray for them.

Dad’s enjoy your children, and children enjoy your Dad’s nothing meets their needs like spending time with you!
