God’s Design For A Strong Marriage
By Lynette Davis
Ecclesiastes 4:12 “A cord of thess strands is not easily broken.”
In marriage, the three cords are – the husband, the wife, and God. God desires to be right in the middle of your marriage! This means that you can rely on God to strengthen your relationship. It means that there is enough power to overcome all obstacles, to love unconditionally, and to have a marriage that you will both cherish!

A braid contans only two strands of hair. But it is impossible to create a braid with only two strands. If the two could be put together at all, they would quickly unravel. Herein lies the mystery: What looks like two strands require a third. The third strand, though not immediately evident, keeps the strands tightly woven. In a Christian marriage, God’s presence, like the third strand in a braid, holds husband and wife together.

Without God in your marriage it would “unravel”! God has to be first in both the husband and wife’s life and then together He will naturally become first in the marriage.

If God isn’t first in your marriage there are some easy steps you can take to get Him there!

1. Pray together – Start with at least just once a day. You will be amazed at the results of your prayers.

2. Read together – Start reading just a few verses a day together and then discuss it. You may find some answers for your problems.

3. Worship together – Make attending church a priority! Corporate worship and anointed sermons are designed to be life changing.
With a Christ-centerd relationship your marriage will be the strand of three that is not easily broken – just as God designed!
